* Lib Dems in the European Parliament have voted to protect workers from excessive noise at work. Working closely with employers and employees, they have reached agreement on new rules. Local Euro-MP/local campaigner XY said "Yet again, the European Parliament has helped advance standards of employee safety. It is unacceptable that people's hearing is impaired because of the work they do. I am glad that we have been able to lower the noise thresholds at which employers must take action to protect their workers."
