* Lib Dems in the European Parliament have spoken up to stop genetically modified fish being bred in Europe. GM fish are increasingly common in America, but there has been very little research into the long-term effects of genetically modifying fish. Local campaigner XY said "Genetically modified salmon are much larger than traditional fish, and there are concerns that they could wipe out wild salmon completely. There may be benefits in the long term – but we need more research before we put our existing fishing stocks at risk."
