* Lib Dems in the European Parliament have voted to tackle computer internet ‘spam’, or junk e-mail. A European Commission report has estimated that spam costs Europe 10 billion euros a year. Local MEP/local campaigner XY said "Spam is not just a British problem, so it’s good to see Europe acting. Internet users waste on-line time downloading, reading and deleting spam. Employers suffer because employees are using valuable time."
