* Lib Dems in the European Parliament have voted to ban animal remains being fed to animals of the same species, which many believe caused BSE. The proposal was based on a report by Swedish Lib Dem Euro-MP Marit Paulsen. Local Euro-MP/local campaigner XY said "If these rules had been in place ten years ago we might never have had the BSE crisis, and it’s great to see the European Union tackling this problem. This vote is a major step forward for the protection of public health and of the environment."
